The problems with having a “We didn’t pay” clause for vacations …
I wouldn’t mind them.
Buy a bunch of fancy vacation clothes, leave them behind so you won’t ruin them abroad, and just wear your regular clothing while touristing around. I mean, it makes it easier to pick up a few local things you can wear, without worrying that it looks silly.

You think they have underwear/lingerie in Kate’s size in Japan?
