There’s never a wrong time to gather intel from a knowledgeable idiot.
I suspect once Inari learns about Phil and Kate he’ll side with them, they really didn’t do anything wrong. At the very least maybe he’ll instruct the local spirit population about not getting too close to Phil if they don’t want to be exposed.
I don’t normally comment, but first I agree with the guy defending the Exorcist 4 pages back. Considering the situation it makes sense that he’d try to deescalate and separate people from the situation. Even if he was an ass, that doesn’t take away from the perceived danger of the situation. Regardless there may be some mental corruption at play too. The spirit is a fake sun goddess and that delusion likely has consequences for everyone involved.
