So Kate’s eventual inoculation against Blue’s teasing/shenanigans is because she’s not at all different once she’s resolved her trauma from being kicked out as a child, kidnapped by a mage, and having to sit on the sidelines as her friends fight incarnations of life and death that have been warped by millennia of repeating a toxic self-destructive cycle. To be fair most people would have been driven into a babbling heap by that stress so that’s a fair reaction.
Also I have to laugh both at pouty fox and Inari’s cold annoyance at his mother apparently flirting with her assignments. Though given one of her stories was about a kitsune who granted a man’s wish by becoming his wife and building a family with him this probably isn’t the first time Inari has had to deal with that kind of fraternization in his role of supervising Kitsune.

IDK, she may be a bit, but more by what Inari is saying than anything. After all her work ethic is being questioned, along with her looks and personality. Inari may want to be careful what they say next.

I think we can take this as confirmation that Kate is the one in charge of the glory that is her harem, and would happilly include Yuki to the list.

Inari is riding the fine line of turning “who’s at fault/who’s in trouble” around on Yuki. If they’re lucky, Yuki will let the earlier matter of Inari’s actions drop based on this current line of questioning. If they’re NOT lucky, Yuki will forcibly change the subject back to ‘punishing’ Inari and double down due to the awkwardness of this moment!
That said, as much as it might be fun to see Yuki formally added to the growing ‘family’, we shouldn’t assume Kate’s flirting actually MEANS anything. Teasing and playing in the moment don’t confirm long-term intentions or feelings; i.e. people can flirt just because and not care about it later.
