I wouldn’t call the demoness’ habits bad as such, she is from a different culture with different social norms. A little allowance must be made for her foibles until she adjusts and understands what is expected of her.

It’s hard to imagine a trio that would be more suited at humbling Inari than Yuki, Kate, and Phil, each contributing to different aspects.
Michelle: “should I be upset that you only suggested they look like Phil or Yuki and not me?”
Kate: “if you had a magic shapeshifter trying to hit on you, and they were capable of being as hot as Yuki, would you settle for them looking like me?”

Ah you see- the trick is, Michelle isn’t there- so what she is really doing- is hitting on both Phil and Yuki there- not actually giving advice. 😀

Kate’s confidence really has come a long way! Definitely feels a bit of the cat energy in how she’s reveling in playing with Inari like this.
…now I actually want Inari to end up joining Kate’s Harem, instead of Yuki. I understand that Yuki is more likely to join for a multitude of reasons (Phil was willing to tease Yuki, for crying out loud), but it’s adorable seeing Kate tease Inari.
Though, honestly, I also suspect that Inari not having decided upon a preferred form is likely a turnoff for Phil, which would have Kate instantly disqualify them from joining her Harem.
I wouldn’t know if that really is a turnoff for Phil to be honest, but the only one to know for sure is the main man himself so until then shrug
Yeah that’s not really an issue. The bigger issue is having Yuki and Inari in the same harem… There are some lines- that’s a big one XD
I know Darius was avoiding that by saying Inari rather than Yuki but it was the first thing that came to mind. XD
Phil wouldn’t be bothered with a shape changing partner nor a trans/gender fluid partner so long as he liked them in general. Some people and personas don’t match up. As for the concept of over stimulating visual appearance- aka seeing all those forms overlapping or swapping through as their mood shifts- Phil can tune it out with some practice. He can always see Yuki’s tails, but he can also tune them out and they wont interfere with his vision at all behind them.
I figured it was something to that effect but it’s always best to get confirmation before making assumptions.
That said, if I had to choose between Inari or Yuki to join Kate’s Harem I’d honestly believe that Yuki would be the better choice as of right now but that’s only because we haven’t had many chances to see Inari in a more casual scenario. That may change going forward, it might not. We’ll have to see.
That said the biggest sticking point is if either would agree.
My reasoning behind Inari having multiple forms being a turn-off for Phil was less about visual appearance, and more about Inari innately being uncomfortable with any specific form they take. I feel like Phil would be more comfortable being with someone who is, in a way obvious to Phil, always be uncomfortable with their physical form, even if they can change it at a whim.
It’s taken me a few days, but I HAVE eventually remembered about “Gender Fluidity” (a concept introduced to me by El Goonish Shive), and that just being a thing can adjust the “measuring scales”. Instead of Inari having an innate discomfort with their form, it can instead be interpreted as their current form is likely the one they’re currently most comfortable in. Which, if Phil can confirm that, dissipates the entire reasoning why Phil might have an issue with Inari joining Kate’s Harem.
As for Yuki, I only have a few reasons that she may not be the best fit. One, I can’t see Demoness joining, and I like the relationship Yuki has built up with Demoness. Secondly, Yuki’s presence IS based on what is effectively a business agreement between Phil and the Celestial’s. So if it becomes something else, someone may need to replace Yuki. And I can easily see it being the obnoxious guy who was on a cloud (who may or may not have been, or been inspired by, Sun Wukong).
