“Outsiders” is a catch all for anything that is not from inside our universe.
This description reminds me of what Terry Pratchett called “parasite universes”.
And also of the Dungeon Dimensions, whose denizens clustered around proper universes like moths around a candle, desperate to partake of the warmth and light, heedless of the fact that if they actually managed to break in, it’d be like the ocean trying to warm itself on a single candle flame.
But yeah, the intelligent behaviour – recognizably intellligent behaviour – from eldritch abominations is concerning.
If they get really clever, as I’ve theorized before, (and capable of doing so) they could build up numbers on the gas giants or the Kuyper belt objects, then launch a massive assault.
Allow me to pick that nit? Maybe Yoshiverse has a Kuyper belt. But thankfully we have a safer Kuiper Belt, so named after the Dutch astronomer Gerard Kuiper who appears to have been both recognizable (well …) and intelligent.
This assumes that the presence of intelligent life isn’t a required factor for outsiders to conceal their presence, it could be that entering or staying in anywhere that isolated from other species like humanity that have an influence on local magic would be like lighting a signal flare and instantly draw attention from celestials before they can even try to hide themselves.
