Filler – Terrible Unexpected Delay

Filler – Terrible Unexpected Delay published on 47 Comments on Filler – Terrible Unexpected Delay

This has seriously caused me to become a nervous and sad wreck right now.  If the new power supply doesn’t work, I will have missed more comics and updates than I ever had.  So much so that It would take months to get enough time to make up for the lost days.  I’m going to spend the rest of my night planning for the worse.  Building a new system as cheaply as I can on Newegg even though I know I cannot really afford it right now.  If anyone is feeling generous right now I would gladly accept any donations and they will still go towards bonus comics, and the money will go to a new system if it becomes necessary.  Keep an eye on Twitter and the forum for updates.  I should know by early Sunday Morning if the new power supply worked (I’ll get home from work a little after midnight, if I didnt get it in prior to work, I’ll do it then and test it.  So I’ll know for sure if I need to order all new parts by Sunday night.  I cannot express how upset I am about this and how terrible I feel about being unable to update the comic.  I’m so sorry.

You’ve explained, and we the fans understand. I wish you the best of luck and offer my sympathies for your given predicament. There are no hard feelings against you for something above your control. We love and respect you Sage.

It’s all good! We know how these things go! I personally find it adorable that your computer’s name is Toyoko, though. :3

My laptop is nami, my droid cellphone is Lien, my nintendo DS is Miyo, and my Wii is Rieko!

question which came first the girls or the gadgets that have the girls names?

The girls! The gadgets are all under 9 years old. While the comic is now over 9 years old ^^

What about doing a PC creation donation campaign?

I wish I could but I’ve stretched myself so thin for the holiday, and this just snapped all my plans. When I’m back up and running, I’m going to be making up for lost time. So doing even more, would crush me. I am still accepting donations though that will go to bonus comics. So if anyone wants to help and wants girls running around in tiny bikinis, I highly recommend donating now more than ever ^_^

You named your PC? I didnt know people did that. Also, dont feel bad about missing a couple comics. Most of us readers are understanding and alot of webcomics that alot of people know and love miss A LOT more pages than you. You’re one of the best at updating and I commend you for your dedication to your fans.

One of the reasons people do is that PC OSes generally ask for a name during install, to be used on the network. Nowadays I think some of the more popular OSes prefill an autogenerated name, but that’s a relatively recent development. So, just about all PCs have a name, it’s just that some are more consciously chosen than others, and some are more meaningful than others (or just in different ways).
There are other reasons too, of course, like the name helping to give it an identity to go with its personality, but those reasons can be more individual.
Personally, I’m no good at coming up with original names, so these days I usually steal a name from some story I like, while trying to keep it somewhat appropriate.
Oh, and, Sage: good luck fixing Toyoko! 🙂

It helps from an IT standpoint. Admin systems can pickup PC names and it makes it fast to ID network problems that way. Generally in a small network admins like using themes, such as notable figures in the history of computers or science. In larger professional networks names are more numerical or functional.
Also various device to device protocols can use names instead of IP address for local network connections, which is dead handy in a dynamica network where computers can get new IP addresses every other day. My iPod and iPad are named and have each other’s names as WebDAV ‘servers’ for GoodReader so I can pass files back and forth.
Be cautious as auto-filled names tend to use the first User profile name in some way, which on a public network like at coffee shop is going to be seen by anyone who takes a look at the ‘network’ section of any OS. So it’s often to ones advantage to actually change the name of a personal computer (Laptops and portables especially).
In short, you don’t name your PC/Devices!? o_0 . I even name my flash memory sticks. I used to name my floppy disks. Why would you not name your things.

My laptop is named Max’s House GTFO (Max is my name) and my flash drive is named WHERE THE **** IS MY FLASH DRIVE (because I always lose it) but otherwise I dont actually give my stuff names and I dont recognize them by the names i give them when i install them in daily life.

Do what ya gotta do, and don’t let this stress ya out that bad. You’re one of the top artists in my comics bookmarks for updating, and a few days in the midst of the holiday season would be more than understandable, especially for a tech issue. Can’t always get the best luck with PC parts after all.

Long time lurker, What kind of parts are you looking for in regards to a power supply or otherwise? Is it amd/intel based system? What kind of connections do you need in regards to the parts you have? You’ve got fans that are willing to help out. Best of luck with this all.

Ive got a power supply on the way and i went ahead and ordered some other parts to go ahead and rebuild her. I used my credit card so im hoping christmas and donations are good to me. So far, im a bit overwhelmed by all the support ive gotten and im so happy to have such great people as my readers.

Fuckberries, and I was looking forward to blue, or which ever girl you had wearing skimpy clothes. Fuck anime, this is better, anime is still good though
