Heh, I’m guessing Alyson is just having fun here. She’d definitely know her dorky brother’s lingo from growing up with him.
Thanks for the comic!
Alyson is behind the times. 😉
Love the contrast of a “mere tecnician” who channels the power of the undead to negate a necromantic giant (https://www.yoshsaga.com/comic/hit-the-deck/) but fumbles in a simple social situation.
Math is easy. People are weird. Also probably been a while since she’s had to explain the difference.
Hey phrasing
Heh yup!
Does make me wonder how universal the term ‘Dungeon Master’ is understood. My friends are all nerds who understand, so I’ve little to work with.
Well. There’s the RPG term, where the DM runs the game, more or less.
Then there’s the S&M term, where a man (or woman) runs a “dungeon” where a lot of “adult” fun, with heavy bondage play.
Are the masters of a S&M dungeon actually referred to as ‘Dungeon Masters’? I am aware of a few friends who do S&M, but I am not aware of any with an actual dungeon. On the other side, I know two nerds who refer to their converted basement as a ‘gaming dungeon.’
I LOVE A GOOD MISUNDERSTANDING
Ah, the innocence! Jade has forgotten the social generalization of Rule 34.
This is why I use the more generic term Game Master.
Good luck saving the misunderstanding now 😀
OOF XD
I think it’s a sad commentary on the American penchant to think everything has a sexual meaning unless proven otherwise. There’s precedent: Victorians kept furniture covered for decency, but had quite a lot of pornography kept hidden.
I think it’s better to assume that a dungeon is a sex thing, rather than a place where people do torture or enslave people. Personally, I think it’s better to be seen as a pervert than a criminal that specializes in human rights violations XD
