Kate is apparently at her limit for dealing with interruptions to her honeymoon. While this may be true it’s missing all of the context about the Outsider trying to possess said friend and the friend being “acceptable losses”. Also it makes Phil seem a LOT more aggressive rather than “celestials kept charging while my husband’s passive defenses kept dissolving them”.

I’m sure she’ll fill in the context and properly explain things but glad to see Kate kept that petty/snarky element of her personality despite rubbing elbows with some of the highest tier terrestrial powers. I’m sure she’ll let Inari off the hook pretty quick because a) he’s potentially a future son-in-law of sorts (that is if I’m reading Yuki’s interest as being more than merely professional) and b) he earnestly apologized after his joke landed poorly, something that not many others have done.

Kate is DEFINITELY doing this on purpose. Making sure Inari knows she and Phil are not undefended, and that of the two of them, Phil is FAR more dangerous.

Curiosity killed the raised fox ears.

Well, at least Inari didn’t put their tails between their legs.

Foxes and cats don’t generally get along so, I can see why she’d tell Inari a rather contextless version of events.

Factual correct I guess and yet…

Next page will have Phil walk up with a casual greeting with Inari jumping out of their skin.
