Oh, you mean an an “Altar”! I was very confused by the comic saying “Alter”, which is sometimes used in psychology but means something totally different.

See- I didn’t notice that typo… then again that should be obvious since if I had seen the typo, it wouldn’t be there to be a typo… As with all typos… Thus… we blame the typo demon.

The therapist seems to lack a name, and also manners. But the otherwise sweet Toyoko acts creepy in this context, so she needs it.
[I agree with earlier comments that seems to have cleared it up, the misspell “alter” is confusing in the context.]
