So Life and Death are a thing but are Light and Dark or are those under Celestial and the Netherworld? (Trying to figure out what kind of shield Yuki is using but also if others could use it)
My understanding is it’s less “light/dark” and more if magic draws from the celestial or demonic realms. Celestial magic is more oriented towards purification and is more effective against outsiders by nature of their duty while demonic magic is more about corrupting other magic to manipulate it but that does bad things when it plays with outsiders (as was shown when Axel wound up partially fused with one).
Yuki’s shields are probably Celestial in nature so could probably be cast by a human with an appropriate magical affinity but Yuki’s backing them with significant power/skill so it’d be like a six year old playing catch vs. a MLB pitcher throwing a fast ball when it comes to the oomph behind the spell.

So maybe the Outsiders only have a limited means of accessing this universe. And maybe it requires a lot of magic too which is why Earth is getting targeted so much.
