You have to pronounce it Artiste, when you strike that pose. I think when you just look up at the imaginary camera that is streaming as you type, is when you say artist, without the extra pretention.
It’s an interesting little philia (as pretty much all of them are) with a lot of variations and levels to it. I’m curious to see how they handle exploring that, and how our demoness—who we know has a taste for exactly that—behaves herself while around what might be her literal favorite food.
Though, if only *Kate* triggers this particular brand of emotional umami, that might be a very good thing for her hornedness. A delightful meal she can only sample when she plays nice and is allowed to.

It seems more that the Null power cancels out spells, not the mana they come from.
Alternatively, the Null power COULD block it if it/Phil ever considered emotion-reading. But I am only guessing.
It also makes him invisible to magic sight though, or very close to it. The lich couldn’t see him, and the adorable shadow servant thought the house was haunted whenever he talked.
The null power is magic itself, and it only nullifies things it sees as a threat in some way to it’s host. It does not needlessly attack magic around him picking up on emotions.
